Foster Percy Nelson was born on November 29, 1954 in Omaha Nebraska to Claudia Mae Williams (Fordyce, AR) and Richard Prince Nelson (Omaha, NE). Foster was raised in Omaha, NE with his 7 siblings. He was baptized at a very early age and devoted his life to God. Foster attended Benson High School 1969-1972. Thereafter, he served in the United States Marine Corp, where he spent 2 years.During his tenure he developed a passion for cooking and sharpened his skills in the kitchen. After Foster’s honorable discharge he worked in various industries.He devoted 20 years to working as a master chef at Hilton Hotels & MGM Grand. In 1976, Foster and Sheila R. Nelson were married.While their marriage did not last, they remained close and raised their daughter Nicole LaShawn (“Nikki”). In 1990, Foster was well into his developing his cooking career;he was working at University Hospital where he met his current wife Samia Marie Davis.Foster had 2 children Nikki and Foster ; Samia has 4 children from previous marriage - Sharreia, Antonia, Latoiaand Gemaylwho he loved and raised as his own.They married June 1994 and enjoyed loving and raising a blended family.In addition to raising and loving their 6 children, Foster and Samia also extended love and parenting to their niece Kamilaand nephew Orlando. If you knew Foster, you know he was the “Kitchen King”.He could whip up a meal so savory he had us all coming back for more.Some of his favorite dishes to prepare were his scallop potatoes, fried catfish and fried corn.He also loved baking cakes and perfected a homemade Alfredo sauce. Soul Food and cooking for his family was truly his love language. Family is the most important thing to Foster. He treasured vacationing and embraced every moment he could with them laughing, cracking jokes and dancing.He really became the Michael Jackson in our family. Apart from cooking and family time, Foster had a passion to dress fly and love his low cut dress boots.He was the true pretty boy and let it be known in all his poses; every time he stepped out he was GQ.Foster was always willing to listen and provide advice.He enjoyed watching all sports ; football was his favorite. Foster was also an avid movie critic and could watch movies for hours; horrorand western movies was his preference.Fosterdevoted his mornings and evenings praying and journaling.His intimate time with God was never sacrificed. If there is a scripture that summarizes Foster’s life, it would be “ Trust in the Lord with all your heart” – Proverbs 3:5.Foster’s final spiritual reading passagebefore his passing read : “SLEEP IN PEACE”.Foster never says goodbye ; so in his honor his last words wouldbe “Be Blessed, Take Care & I’ll talk to You Soon.This is not goodbye…this is just SO LONG & I LOVE YOU ALL!” Foster was preceded in death by his father Richard Prince Nelson , mother Claudia Mae Nelson & his sister Elizabeth(Bolton). He leaves to cherish his wife Samia ,mother –in – law: Marie Adams , children: Nicole (“Nikki”), Foster (mom-Delores), Sharreia (Tony), Antonia, Latoia (Keeth), Gemaylgrandchildren: Jalen, Justice, D’Mya, Antonio, D’Mario, D’Angelo, D’Juan, Amir, Jayla, Bria, Blake, Keeth Jr ,two great grandchildren: DaMarian, Caleb, Brothers: Carl,Richard (“Jappo”), Johnny (“Baby Boi”), David , Sisters: Marie, Dora, Sandra, Lisa.Brothers in law:Wilmore , Spencer , Ernie (Mika), sisters in law: Tyrra, Tamara, Rulester, Stephanie, Bonita, Gloria, loving step mom: Udean Peyton and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and other relatives.
