Faye M. Mangelsen, 85, passed away peacefully at Macon Healthcare Center on Saturday, May 13th, with family beside her. She was born in Fullerton, Nebraska, at home on March 5th, 1938. Faye was the youngest of her siblings and helped out on the family farm while growing up. She was a lover of animals, but especially dogs. While growing up, she enjoyed playing cards and hiding all the pencils under the mattresses. For school, Faye attended a one room school and started in the first grade and completed her education through high school.
After graduation, Faye and her older sister, Pauline, passed the test for the armed services, but she didn’t go on and pursue that career, instead she and her sisters went to Columbus, NE and proceeded to work for a dry cleaner. She and her sisters, none of which were married, then went to Omaha, NE, for work. Faye worked at Linen Supply Co., for 9 years and then went to work for Majors Plastic for 30 years, in which she was a machine operator until she retired.
By 2008, she had lost her two older sisters and decided to move to Missouri. In 2009, Faye began her residence in Moberly, MO at Meadow Ridge Sr. Living so she could be closer to her extended family. She resided there until April 2023, due to declining health, which took her to Macon Healthcare.
She is preceded in death by her parents and all siblings, except one, and niece, Holly Mangelsen. Faye is survived by her brother, Willard W. Mangelsen (wife Shirley), of Macon, MO, and 3 nieces, Lisa Whitmore, Moberly, Joni Barron(Spencer), Moberly, and Greta Roberts (Joey), Anabel, and many great nieces and nephews.
She will be laid to rest in Fullerton, NE, next to family, with a graveside funeral on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023 at 11:00 at Fullerton Cemetery
