Eugene R Kramer

April 20, 1959 — August 24, 2024

Eugene “Gene” Richard Kramer Jr was born April 20th, 1959, in Newburgh, New York to Eugene and Vivian Kramer. He was the youngest of their 4 children, following sisters Karen and Ann, and brother Glenn. Eugene passed away at the Omaha VA Medical Center on August 24th, 2024.

6 days after Gene was born, he was Baptized at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, also in Newburgh. He was raised Catholic, as was the rest of his family. Towards the end of his life, he felt unsure and weary, but he had support in ensuring and defining his relationship with Christ.

Eugene loved his Country. In 1982, Eugene entered USAF Basic Military Training School which lasted 6 weeks. He took a two-week-long NCO Preparatory Course in 1985. Eugene entered active duty in Newark, New Jersey earning the rank of Airman First Class. For 5 years and 7 months, Eugene served as a Ground Radio Communications Specialist. During his time in the US Air Force, he received an Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, and an Air Force Good Conduct Ribbon.

Gene was very passionate about his family. He had three kids. Andrew, his oldest son; Angela, his only daughter; and Jonathan, his youngest son. He made sure his kids knew he loved them and did all that he could for them. Gene’s children recounted sweet memories at his bedside after he passed. SpongeBob-themed Birthday parties, bowling alley games, the stacks of VHS tapes and how often he watched Star Wars. They went on and laughed, cried, and talked to their dad even when he was gone.

Eugene is preceded in death by his Father, Eugene Sr; Mother, Vivian; Sisters Karen and Ann; and Brother Glenn. He is survived by his 3 children: sons Andrew and Jonathan, and daughter Angela. He will be missed so deeply.
