LAW, Ernest L. "Ernie"
9/18/1931 - 4/29/2023
Ernie grew up on a farm in Missouri with his ten siblings, then joined the United States Navy at a young age. He served in the military for four years including the Korean War. Shortly after he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy he returned home and met Donna Jean Law, whom he later married. They lived comfortably in a small home in Valley, Nebraska where they bore their two children, Eddie and Larry. This is where Eddie and Larry grew up together.
Ernie would start his mornings out with his buddies at the small-town bar, there in town, for a freshly-brewed cup of coffee. Later, he and his buddies moved their morning coffee gathering to the barber shop there in town. He also enjoyed gambling and spent much of his time at Horseman’s Park with his friends and family after he retired from Continental Can as an electrician. Of course, Ernie also liked going to the casino with Delores, a special lady dear to his heart, and spending time with her family. When you couldn’t find him at the track, you could probably find him in his garden or at L.A. Auto, his son Larry’s dealership. He enjoyed tinkering around there quite a bit. Ernie was a funny guy with a great sense of humor and loved by many and all. He delighted in spending time with his grandchildren also. They enjoyed him, too! Last, but not least, Ernie was a friendly and generous man who helped many, in many ways, and donated every month to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital faithfully.
Survived by his sons: Edward Law & wife Pamela, Larry Law; Siblings: Genevieve Talbott, Ronald Law, Luella Dorman; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren
