May 26, 1969 - January 19, 2023
On Tuesday we lost our sweet, sweet son, caring brother and proud uncle - Eric Ostergaard. His body stayed with us for a few days more as he waited to give his heart away one last time. Anyone who has known Eric knew him as the most gentle, kind, generous soul around. He would tell you that he had never suffered a day despite living with schizophrenia for over 30 years. He was a gift to us and our teacher. We are forever grateful that he will be looking over us. We are so saddened by our loss, yet feel joy knowing he is free!
Eric is the beloved son of Jean and Del Ostergaard. He is survived by his parents, siblings Kim (Tom) Novak, Adam (Jill) Ostergaard, and Allie (Andrew) Flohr; nieces and nephews Shelby, Grant, Jackson, Carley, Grace, Abby, Owen, Nora and Wes, and great-nephew Noa
Eric’s life will be celebrated with a Funeral Mass on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 10:00am, with a gathering of family and friends starting at 8:30 AM, all at St. Gerald's Catholic Church (96 & Q St.)
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family and will be distributed to the Community Alliance, Campus Crusade (Lincoln), NAMI and the Sisters of Notre Dame.
