CONYERS, Elsie Rae Entered this world November 7, 1924 in Stephens,Arkansas and peacefully returned to the Lord January 22, 2010 at her home inOmaha, Nebraska. Elsie spent her early years in Dyess, Arkansas whereher family worked a small farm through the Great Depression. She graduated from Dyess High School and thenattended Secretarial School in Memphis, Tennessee. It was in Memphis that she met the love ofher life, a sailor in the U.S. Coast Guard, Quentin Jon Conyers of MissouriValley, Iowa. They married on October23, 1943 in West Memphis, Arkansas. WhenQuentin was discharged, they started a family, Pamela Rae Conyers (Hansen)(1950), Patricia Gayle Conyers (1951) and Jon Quentin Conyers II (1955). Patty was born with Spina bifida, and preceded hermother and father in returning to the Lord, March 14, 1953. Elsie and Quentin settled in Council Bluffs,Iowa to raise their children. Quentinworked in Real Estate and as a pressroom operator for the World Herald and theNonpareil until he succumbed to Lymphoma, April 10, 1964. Elsie raised her children alone working inthe mortgage banking business in Omaha until she retired in 1986. Elsie loved her children, grandchildren,great-grandchildren, many friends and her dogs. Elsie is survived by herdaughter, Pam (Donald) Hansen of Omaha; son, Jon (Debra June Chubick) Conyersof Omaha; grandchildren, Donald Anton (Brook) Hansen, Margaret “Megan” AngelaHansen, Melissa Darlene (Paul) Conyers-Miller and Jon Quentin (Kati) ConyersIII; great-grandchildren, Alexis June Conyers Miller, Madison Rae ConyersMiller and Andrew Quentin Conyers Miller. No services are scheduled at this time.
