Eleanor Marie Peterson, 90, of Omaha, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Linda Rohmiller in Omaha, on October 30, 2023. Born September 15, 1933, Eleanor was the daughter of Benjamin Freil Purcell and Geneva Marie Smithson of Missouri Valley, Iowa. She attended school in Missouri Valley and graduated in 1952. On September 21, 1952 Eleanor married the love of her life Richard Peterson.
Eleanor was married to her late husband Richard "Pete" Peterson for 69 years before his passing in 2021. Together they owned and operated Pete's Service Center in Millard, Nebraska for 30 years prior to retiring in 1998. After retiring from the station Eleanor and Pete enjoyed some traveling in their camper, spending time with the family and just working on small projects around the home. Eleanor was a quiet, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Eleanor enjoyed watching football, especially the Huskers and Chiefs. She never missed a game. She also loved a good mystery movie and she had a sweet tooth for her Twinkies and donuts.
Eleanor will be missed by her daughter Linda (Ed) Rohmiller; Grandchildren Kayla (Chad Bird) and Ryan Rohmiller; Great Grandchildren Ryker, Emersyn and Easton.
Preceded in death by her late husband Richard Peterson, daughter Debbie Peterson: sister Deloris Stueve, brother Harlan Purcell.
