Elda Marie Buller

July 3, 1933 — July 25, 2020

BULLER, Elda Marie 7/3/1933 – 7/25/2020 Elda Marie Buller (Wedel) was born on July 3, 1933 in Goessel Kansas to Benjamin and Helena Wedel (Dyck). She grew up in Newton Kansas attending First Mennonite church, where at a young age placed her faith in the Lord Jesus. This would for the rest of her life be the most important decision she would make. She graduated from Newton High School, proud to be a “Newton Railer”! She moved to Omaha Nebraska in the fall of 1951 to attend Grace University. While at Grace she was very involved in the vocal music program as she loved to sing. While at Grace she met and fell in love with Dennis Buller. They married on November 15, 1958. Dennis and Elda were blessed with four children.Cynthia (Cyndi), Wesley (Wes), Beth, and James (Jim). During the first few years of their marriage they lived in Topeka Kansas, but moved back to Omaha. Dennis and his father would start a lawn business which would grow into a nursery/greenhouse, Westside Nursery. Dennis would become a Landscape Designer and Elda was Book-keeper/General Manager for the Greenhouse/Retail store. Elda stayed very busy during this time with everything at the nursery, but also with being Mom to four children and their busy schedules. The family was also very involved in church activities. It was very important to Elda to ground their children in their faith. She was a faithful choir member for many years. She was a part of many Christmas and Easter Choir Musicals at Christ Community Church. In her most recent years she greatly enjoyed singing in the “Rusty Hinges” quartet. She loved going to the Retirement/Care Centers to sing for the people there. It was also a “bonus” for her to spend time with the dear friends that were the other members of the quartet. After the kids had grown and moved “out” Elda and Dennis decided to house International students that would come to the University of Nebraska Omaha Campus to learn English in the ILUNO Program. They housed students from all over the world. This brought her much joy, as each of these students would become like her own children. To this day they feel like Elda is “Mom”. Elda enjoyed gardening and cooking. There was always a large garden planted in the spring and she would not only use the produce all summer long but did lots and lots of canning of the produce. She also very much enjoyed the flowers in her yard. Elda lived a very blessed life.It wasn’t always easy…there were trials, but, she ALWAYS trusted that the Lord was by her side walking with her and many times carrying her. She was preceded in death by her Parents Benjamin and Helena Wedel, Brother Benjamin “Benny” Wedel, and Husband Dennis Buller.Elda is Survived by her Children Cynthia (Mark) Stucky, Wesley (Laurie) Buller, Beth (Merle) Hogberg and James (Amy) Buller.Grandchildren Krystle (Jamin) McLallin, Shanon (Kyle) Rifenbury, Bailey (Andrew) Rutten, Maddie (Jeffrey) Hofer, Nathaniel (Rachael) Hogberg, Noah Hogberg, Christina “Nina” Hogberg, Noelle Buller and Faith Buller.Great Grandchildren Jethro and Riggs Rutten, Adela Hofer and Charlotte Rifenbury. Two Sisters Ethel (Gary) Griffin, Blair NE and Ruth (Barry)Mason, Oxford PA.Many Nieces and Nephews.
