Edwin was born in New York City. He was the only child of Edwin G. and Mary Louise (Moreland) Scheuer. His youth was spent in upstate New York. He did undergraduate work at Fordham and at Buffalo University, from which he earned his Bachelor's degree. He obtained his Ph.D. (Medicinal Chemistry) from the University of Rhode Island.
He taught in the Creighton University School of Pharmacy for a number of years and subsequently worked as a Registered Representative for Investors Diversified Services until he retired.
Ed loved model railroading and all kinds of handyman work. He was was skilled with all sorts of manual and power tools and enjoyed building things. He also liked keeping abreast of political and world events. He never lost his sense of humor and made friends wherever he went.
Edwin is survived by his long time friend, JoAnn Leichliter, and by her son, Christian Garcia and Chris's wife, Sarah, and their daughter, Lucy--and by the family's dogs (Juno, Charley and Kuma), of whom he was so fond.
