HESSON, Edna I. February 3, 1927 ~ December 6, 2017 Preceded in death by husband Calvin Hesson, Jr. (electrocutedJuly 10, 1955, when digging up a tree stump in their front yard), parents Chris and Dorthea Fuglsang, brother Neils, sister Fern Lapehn, brother-in-law, Roger, and sister-in-law Sharon Hesson and Gloria Lewis, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.Survived by daughters Debra Hesson and Becky Skerven, and son Calvin (Julie), all of Omaha; sisters-in-law, and Ellen Hesson and Janet Hesson, Lincoln, NE; grandchildren Tricia (Keith) Burbach, Eagan, MN; Adam Skerven;Lisa (Scott) Whisenhunt, Mascoutah, IL; Nicole (Jim) Wentz, Wichita, KS; Hannah Hesson, Omaha; seven great-grandchildren, in addition to several nieces and nephews and many, many friends. Edna was born near Elk Horn, Iowa; graduated from Atlantic High School, Atlantic, Iowa, in 1944; and Gregg College, Chicago, IL, in 1945. Edna enjoyed working and did so most of her life, sometimes two or three jobs at the same time.Retired from FDIC in 1986 after 30 years of government service. Later worked for American National Bank for 12 years.She was active in the International Order of Rainbow Girls for 70 plus years, Trinity Chapter No. 299, Order of the Eastern Star, Sat-ra Temple No. 59, Daughters of the Nile, PEO Chapter IT, Red Hats and many bridge clubs. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Tuesday, December 12, 2017 1:00 PM at Braman Mortuary Southwest Chapel. Interment: Dec. 16th,10 AM, Atlantic Cemetery, Atlantic Iowa (Highway 6 and 71) Luncheon to follow atSt. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Atlantic Iowa, 1011 E. 13th St. Memorials to: Endless Journey Hospice or Shriner’s Transportation Fund
