EDITH L. DREVES, born in Sioux City, Iowa, on the 9th of August, 1920, to Arthur and Ella Mae Linke, passed away on Sunday, the 14th of June, in Omaha, Nebraska. Edith married Lee Dreves on the 14th of February, 1942, in Sioux City, Iowa, and worked at the Grain Exchange in Sioux City while Lee was overseas in military service during World War II. Following the war, Edith and Lee moved to Omaha and from time to time Edith worked as a bookkeeper in Lee's advertising agency until she retired to her life's labor of love -- that of being a full-time mom for daughter Mary Lou and son Mike. Edith was an excellent homemaker and cook and enjoyed sewing, playing bridge with friends and golfing with Lee, especially when beating him at his own game! She also enjoyed church and school activities at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Omaha, where she and Lee took particular pleasure in staging and acting in annual plays by the parish theater group. When Lee retired from advertising in 1982, Edith and Lee moved to Rio Verde, Arizona, where they resided for 26 years, enjoying retired life, new friends and lots of family time with their children and grandchildren. Following the death of Lee, her loving husband of 66 years, Edith lived near her daughter in Houston, Texas and then her son in Omaha until her death. Edith is survived by her daughter Mary Lou Smith and her husband Walt of Houston; son Michael Dreves and his wife Cindi of Omaha; grandsons Ben, Mike and Jeff; Great Grandsons Louis and Clark Smith.; Numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
