Duane Knittle

July 15, 1947 — January 13, 2020

Duane “Denny” Knittle died at home in Omaha Neb Monday January 13th 2020. He is survived by his dog Ragnar, his son Douglas Knittle and grandson Random Knittle. Denny was born in 1947 to parents Duane and Doris Knittle in Shenandoah, Ia. He also graduated from Shenandoah High School before going on to study at Central Missouri State and George Washington University where he earned his Masters Degree. He then worked his way up through several federal government jobs until he landed in Denver, Co. accepting the highest promotion ever given to a man of his tender years. After several years in this position. Denny left government work and went back to Iowa to care for his elderly father until his passing. He then moved to Omaha and began placing kids in training programs for Job Corps, which he continuedto do until he retired. Denny was very involved in A.A., amassing over twenty years sober and helping many others towards their goal of sobriety. He also loved Native American art, Siberian Huskies and reading. He had an unusual sense of humor and a brilliant mind. He helped change many lives for the better and he will be missed.
