ANDERSON, Duane
3/20/1939 - 11/25/2023
Duane was born on March 20, 1939, in Audubon, Iowa, as the first of three sons to H. LaVern and Elizabeth Anderson. Duane and his brothers, Kenneth and Donald, were raised on the family farm outside of Audubon, Iowa. They attended a one room school house until going on to Audubon High School. After graduation, Duane served in the United States Air Force where most of his time was spent in Europe. When he completed his military service, Duane attended Dana College in Blair, Nebraska, and received a Bachelors Degree in Business. This is where he met his future wife, Gloria Jensen. Duane and Gloria married on June 1, 1964. They welcomed three daughters (Deadrea, Ginny, and Dawn) to their lives. Duane enjoyed many professions such as cab driving, construction, and sales during his life but his heart was finally settled when he accepted God's call and attended Garrett Evangelical Seminary and received his Masters of Divinity to become a Methodist minister. Duane enjoyed nothing more than telling others about Jesus' love and how each person is special to God. Even after he retired from the ministry, Duane continued to share the Good News of Jesus Christ to homeless and persons in need through different outreach services. On November 25, 2023, Duane passed from this world into the arms of our Heavenly Father.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Gloria, and his daughters, Deadrea (Kim) Crummer, Ginny (Michael) Card, and Dawn (Robert) Wing. Duane is also survived by his brother, Donald (Lori) Anderson. Duane left behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Randi (Jake) Johnson, Kyle (Emily) Anderson, Shane (Samantha) Kelley, Grant (Lydia) Kelley, Sean (Joanna) Card, Jeffrey (Rylee) Wing, Shamus (Kaitlyn) Card, Kian Wing, Gabby Kelley, Everly Johnson, Claire Kelley, Evan Johnson, Jameson Kelley, Vivian Kelley, Aubrey Kelley, and great-great-granddaughter Oaklynn Kelley.
