She was born November 17, 1934 in Winner, SD to Franklin Olaf and Ruth Alice (Fuller) Johnson. Her dad was the Depot Agent in Winner where she grew up. There were many great stories of adventures with friends revolving around trains and the Depot. Sharp, Jr. The two were married on May 29, 1955 in Winner, SD where they continued their teaching careers. After Walt completed his master’s degree at the University of South Dakota, the family moved to Omaha, NE in 1961.

Dorothy was willing to help whomever and wherever needed. She volunteered as a scout leader, lunchroom aide, chaperone for school functions and at the election polls. She worked as an Avon sales representative and a salesclerk at Brandeis Department Store. She and Walt were active members of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, having coffee with friends, growing flowers, crocheting dish scrubbies and prayer shawls, and crafting. Dorothy and Walt enjoyed traveling and took advantage of several bus tours allowing them to see different parts of the county.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Ruth (Fuller) Johnson, her brother, Franklin Johnson (Enid), and her husband of 65 years, Walt. She is survived by daughters Deb Luedders (Gary) of Gretna, NE, and Angie Hurley (Mark) of Harrison, ID; son, Brad Sharp (Jessica) of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren Ryan Luedders (Adrienne), Brent Luedders (Jen), Sara Gahan (Reid), Erin Hurley, Tessa Hurley, Mollie Sharp, Riley Sharp, Cameron Sharp; great grandchildren Sawyer, Oliver and Gabby Luedders; many nieces and nephews.
