BOUNDS, Dorothy L. On Tuesday, March 18, 2021, Dorothy Lynn Bounds, loving mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away at age 79. Dorothy was born on July 26, 1941 in Water Valley, MS to Ike and Mattie (Sheffield) Pigue. She moved to Omaha, NE in 1971 with her four children Marcha, Leeander, Jackie, and Jeffery. Dorothy worked for Airlite Plastic Company for 32 years before retiring in 2001. Dorothy’s passion was her family. Every action she took and decision she made was with them in mind. Spending time with family always involved laughing, reminiscing, and having a good time. She worked hard in every aspect of her life and instilled those lessons to her children. Dorothy was consistently open and honest. She would “tell you how it is” and say she loved you in the same breath. She was known for her quick wit, strength, and compassionate spirit. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Ike and Mattie, and her siblings, Ella Mae, Roy Austin, OJ, and Mary O’neal. She is survived by her children Marcha, Leeander, Jackie (Darrick), and Jeffery, her sisters Kathleen and Katie, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.
