Donald B Glissmann

August 15, 1929 — April 1, 2021

Glissmann, Donald B. 8/15/1929 – 4/1/2021 Don loved life and all the adventures and interests it presented to him. But there were three things that mattered most to him, Faith, Farm and Family. His faith was his bedrock, it gave him strength, comfort, and peace. His was a faith of service to others expecting nothing in return. Don grew up on a farm here in Omaha, rising early in the morning to milk cows with his dad and repeating it later after school. He spoke often and lovingly about his dad who was his role model and best friend and of the land they both loved. Family completed who he was. He remained close to his parents and sister while growing a family of his own. He loved being a father and was patient, loving and supportive. The foundation of that family was his undying love for Gloria, his wife of 70 years. His devotion to her and his children lasted a lifetime. Preceded in death by parents, Bernhard & Besse Glissmann; grandson, Jeffrey D. Glissmann II. Survived by: wife, of 70 years, Gloria; son, Jeffrey Glissmann; daughter, Lori (Gene) Liu; sister, Elaine Johnson; grandchildren, Janice (Scott) Grauberger, Benjamin Liu, Megan Liu & Meredith (Trent) Matthes; 2 great-grandsons, Cooper & Conner Grauberger; many other relatives & friends. Visitation: Tues., April 6, 2021 from 5:30-7:30pm at Braman Mortuary (72nd Street Chapel). Private family interment at Evergreen Memorial Park.
