MURCEK, Donald, "Don" of Omaha passed away October 23, 2008 at his home. Don was born in Omaha, Nebraska on March 10, 1943. His parents, Edward and Bessie Murcek preceded him in death. Don was an avid NASCAR fan and bowler. He enjoyed working at the Nebraska Raceway Park for 30 years. Don worked for the United States Postal Service for 37 years. Don married his love of his life, Candy on October 5th, 1968 at St. Richards Church in Omaha, Nebraska. Don is survived by his wife, Candy of 40 years, a daugter Ginger Smith and husband Scott of Gretna, Nebraska, a sister, Cathy Schweer and husband Larry of Mountain Home, Arkansas and a grandson, Aiden Smith of Gretna, Nebraska. A Celebration of Don's Life is scheduled Tuesday, 10:00 AM at Braman Mortuary (72nd St. Chapel). Visitation will be Monday, 4-7 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at Braman Mortuary. Bural will be at Calvary Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska. Memorials can be directed to the Family.
