Dennis Johnson was born on May 30, 1930 to Ernest and Rhoda (Ena) Johnson. He passed away peacefully on September 29, 2023 in Omaha. Dennis was born in Wausa, Nebraska and farmed in that area for many years. Dennis married Betty (Becker) Johnson in 1955. Dennis and Betty and their 3 children moved to Omaha in 1969. Dennis was a member of the Contractors, Laborers and Teamsters Union until his retirement. He and Betty then moved to Oakland, Nebraska where they enjoyed country living until moving back to Omaha in 2010.
Dennis and Betty shared many vacations with Jackson, Wyoming, being a favorite spot. Dennis spent his retired years collecting farm toys, attending auctions and gardening. Dennis enjoyed sharing stories about his family and time spent growing up on the farm. He was an avid card player and spent many hours engaged in lively games with the family. Feeding and watching the birds and squirrels in his backyard became a favorite pastime as well.
Dennis is survived by his wife Betty, his daughter Cyndi Pereira of Omaha, and his sons Harold of Blair and David of Colorado Springs. Ten grandchildren Chelsea Boryca (Jason Feldman), Alex (Alexandra) Boryca, Spencer Pereira, Erin (Mark) Watson, Anna (Adam) Hatter, Teddy (Britney) Johnson, Maggie (Beau) Schmidt, Matthew Johnson, Jonathan Johnson and Jennifer Johnson and ten great-grandchildren. His brother Roland (Mary) Johnson of Wausa, Nebraska.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Carolyn Anderson, Claire Peterson, Lois Pearson, and Gladys Duncan and brother Harold Johnson.
