Age 80 years of Omaha Debbie is survived by her Husband of 58 years, Terrence Moore, Sons: Jeff (Babette) Moore, Michael (Aileen) Moore; Grandchildren: Scott, Alexa, Nathan, Chloe; Brothers: Louie (Laverne) Boryca, Emil (Kelly) Boryca; Sisters: Faye Matya, Theresa (Larry) Kroeger; Many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her by her parents John Boryca and Victoria Smollen Boryca, brothers, Adam, Johnny, and Leonard.
Debbie was born in Omaha and attended grade school at St. Francis of Assisi, she matriculated to South High where she graduated with honors.She met Terry at a friend’s wedding reception in the summer of 1959 and they wed in June of 1961.Debbie worked at Mutual of Omaha for a number of years then moved to St. Pius X, from there she worked at Sidels Appliance then to Western Electric followed by a long career at Millard Rosenburg National Yellow Pages.She balanced her career around her family obligations, sacrificing her personal career for the betterment of her family. Besides her family, her true love was baseball. She loved attending the College World Series and Nebraska baseball games.She never missed her brother’s, children or grandchildren’s baseball or softball games.She was extremely athletic, her maiden name of Boryca, was well known in the Omaha community.She was an accomplished skier, tennis player and golfer.She was playfully competitive having never lost a foot race to her grandchildren well into her 60’s. She enjoyed baking desserts for her family and friends including cookies, pies, cherry sh*t, and cobblers.She was well known for her amazing Italian salad dressing and many other home cooked items with love.She was the consummate hostess, she always made sure that every meal was filled with love, and “Grandma Debbie Hot”. Not only was she dedicated to her family she was a friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew her. Celebration of Delores’ Life: Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11:00am, with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service, all at Braman Mortuary (72 St. Chapel)
