Dawn Rittmiller

October 21, 1974 — January 4, 2019

RITTMILLER, Dawn K. 10/21/1974 – 1/4/2019 Age 44 years of Omaha Dawn was born October 21, 1974 at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Bremerton, Washington. She was raised in Medina, Ohio with her brother Chris and where her mother, Kathy, married Greg McClure. Dawn trusted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior during a Vacation Bible School when she was young, having understood her need for her personal forgiveness and salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. She graduated from Medina High School in 1993 then attended Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa. There, she met her beloved husband, Shawn, during their freshman year. Dawn graduated with an Associate of Arts in Bible in 1996. She and Shawn were married on May 31, 1997. They moved to the Detroit-area, so Shawn could attend seminary. Dawn worked at a daycare until becoming a few months pregnant with their first child. She took delight in serving in the church communities to which their family was called over the years, helping in the nursery and as a Sunday School teacher regularly. Dawn also came alongside her pastor-husband to help in whatever areas were needed within their congregation. In 2002, Shawn was called to First Baptist Church in Freeland, MI where they served for seven years. In 2008, her family moved to Park Lane Baptist Church in Omaha, where her husband was called to pastor. While at Park Lane, Dawn taught the “Twos and Threes” Sunday School class, led Children’s Church, served as janitor, organized crafts for Vacation Bible School, and helped in other occasions. Her greatest joy and honor was ministering to her own children: Zachariah (18), Alexander (16), Ethan (14), and Veronica (11). At home, Dawn enjoyed cooking, playing board games with her family, homeschooling all four children, and hosting slumber parties for her daughter and friends. She, on occasion, made quilts and crocheted. Much to the chagrin of her Husker-loving husband, she also made Ohio State Buckeye fans of her kids. She leaves behind her husband, Shawn (to whom she was a faithful and loving companion); her oldest son, Zachariah (of whom she was very proud of the young man that he has become); her son, Alexander (the hockey star, of whom she cheered on from the stands and encouraged to pursue his athletic dreams); her son, Ethan (the entertainer who would put rubber snakes and plastic bugs in her bed or other places for her to find or play other jokes on her); and Veronica (her beautiful daughter with whom she could do all the “girly” things that none of the guys wanted to do). Also surviving her are parents Greg and Kathy McClure (Medina, Ohio), a brother Christopher Kramer (Phoenix, Arizona), and many other extended family and friends Visitation: Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019 from 5-7:00pm at Braman Mortuary (72 St. Chapel) Celebration of Dawn’s Life: Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019 at 10:00am at Park Lane Baptist Church (5550 N. 60 Ave.) Interment: Evergreen Memorial Park Memorials to Park Lane Baptist Church Braman Mortuary (72 St. Chapel) 1702 N. 72 St. Omaha, NE68114 402-391-2171 © 2018 Braman Mortuary
