Dave had a successful career working at CTB McGraw Hill, Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, Inc., Orange County and Seminole County Public Schools, retiring in 2008.
Dave enjoyed spending time with his family, savoring a good meal, playing and coaching tennis and baseball, watching sports and sneaking snacks to his favorite dogs, Sparkle, Holly and Mia.
Dave will be remembered for his generosity, always welcoming you with your favorite candy, making you laugh, his love of list-making, asking if you were weird and hosting "weird" parties, telling bedtime stories of his childhood shenanigans, and his unconditional love and support for his family. A casual celebration of life is scheduled for December in Florida. Dave's family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at http://heroes.stjude.org/tweedy2024 Please put "In Memory of David Winger" in the Donation Display Name box.
Just as Dad would end many evenings with us growing up by singing this song, we will leave you with this question: "Do you know where you are going to, do you like the things that life is showing you?" - Song by Michael Masser and Gerry Goffin and sung by Diana Ross.
