RAINEY, David L. “Dave” 1/10/1948 – 12/8/2021 David Lowell Rainey was born on January 10, 1948 in South Sioux City, NE to Sylvester & LaVon Rainey. He had an older sister, Judy, and a younger sister, Sue. He graduated from South Sioux City High School and went on to Wayne State College, where he met the love of his life, Robin (Stovie). They married soon after and had 53 years together until his passing. David (and Robin) had two daughters, Keri and Samantha, and 6 grandchildren whom he loved very much. David joined the Navy in 1969. Anyone who knew him, knew he was a proud Shellback. He loved to golf and fish any chance he got. If it was 48 degrees or above, he was on the course! David was quick witted with the biggest smile and always willing to lend a hand or help out if you needed it. After complications post open heart surgery, David lost his hard fought battle on December 8th at the age of 73. Dave is survived by his wife Robin (nee Stovie); daughters Keri (Jeff) Downing, Samantha (Bill) Fleck; grandchildren: Austin, Alyssa, Jack, Dallas, Houston, Kaitlyn; sister Susan Daniels; many other relatives and friends. Gathering of Family & Friends to Celebrate Dave’s Life will be on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Millard American Legion Post #374 (13913 S St, Omaha, NE 68137).
