CONSTANCE (CONNIE) M. MENDENHALL-PIGMAN

(1 John 4:8): Whoever does not love, does not know God for God is love.

Born: December 20, 1939 (Carroll, Iowa)
Death: May 27, 2023 (Omaha, Nebraska)

It is with sincere sadness that we announce the death of Constance (Connie) M. Mendenhall-Pigman who passed away May 27, 2023, at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents Laverne J Mendenhall and Dorothy Mendenhall of Omaha. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Michael D. Mendenhall of Omaha, Steven F. Mendenhall, and Thomas J. Mendenhall and sister, Mary E. Bennett of Beaverton, Oregon.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Pigman and John Pigman of Omaha & her Grandsons, Ian Pigman, Brandon Pigman, and Zayne Pigman. She is also survived by her sisters Catherine Baugh (Jack) of Hillsboro Oregon, Judy Anderberg (Tom), and Debbie Tavernier of Austin, Texas.
She also leaves behind several Nieces and nephews.

Connie was born in Carroll, Iowa and moved with her family as a baby to Worthington Minnesota. When she was 3 ½ the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she stayed the remainder of her life. Connie attended Catholic grade schools and graduated from Mercy High School in 1958. Shortly after graduating, she began working as a secretary for several law firms and insurance companies in Omaha. She prided herself on the fact that she could type 100 words per minute. Companies were eager to hire her as a result. She worked most of her life. Because of her love for animals, especially dogs and cats, she learned the skill of grooming animals which she did in addition to her everyday job. She eventually went to work for Omaha Steaks and became one of their top salespersons.

She was the eldest sibling of 9 children. She loved ballet, old movies, opera, reading, horses, animals, musical theater, jazz, basically life! When you talked to her, she wanted to share her enjoyment about an old movie she had just watched. She loved everyone who came in contact with her. Mostly Connie loved her two sons John and Mike. She had so much love and pride for her Grandsons Ian, Brandon, and Zayne. Anything they accomplished no matter how small or big, she wanted to tell you about it. And she adored her siblings Steve, Tom, Mike, Mary, Cathy, Judy, Debbie and John.

Generosity and love best describe who Connie was as a person. Whatever she had she would willingly give away. All you needed to do was ask. Love was at the center of who she was. She loved God and showed that love in her Catholic faith. She is now with her parents, grandparents and siblings who have gone before her. We are so grateful that we have yet another guardian angel watching over us!
