Connie had to go take tests at the age of 4 so she could start school in September since she didn’t turn 5 until November. She passed with flying colors!!! She attended Franklin and Clifton Hill grade schools, was active in Girl Scouts and even rolled down the highway in Papillion as she was too tired to walk anymore (on the way home from Camp Maha). Didn’t help that she was a chubby little thing either!! Connie attended Omaha Technical Jr. and Sr. High school. She sang in the Sr. Choir and was on Student Council. She failed PE as she couldn’t tumble. She loved swim class and then after showering and dressing, she then ran up 5 flights of stairs to the lunchroom. Connie went to LPN school at Tech. She worked at Methodist Hospital in the OB department. She then worked at Immanuel Hospital in the Rehab Department and then the nursing home. She also worked at the Rose Blumkin Nursing Home. Connie loved to sing, working on class reunions, crocheting and doing craft shows. She was active in the Zeta Anderson Auxiliary at VFW Post 2503. Connie wants to give special thanks to to her doctors: Dr. Karen Miller, Dr. Michael Dehning, Dr. Frank Mezzacappa, Dr. Heather Lechnowsky, Dr. Rebecca Ehlers and Dr. Claire Baker. They were more than her doctor’s, they were family. Connie will be cremated and buried at the Omaha National Cemetary. Private burial with family only.
