Charles Aaron Schwenke June 21, 1929 ~ April 17, 2011 Of Omaha, NE passed away Sunday at the Compassionate Memory Care Center in Omaha. He was born on a farm northeast of Massena, IA to Arthur and Mabel (Karas) Schwenke. He graduated with the Massena High School class of 1945. He farmed near Massena and then worked at the Massena elevator before moving to Omaha in 1963 where he worked in the excavating occupation. He married Alda Morgan in 1952. He retired from M&S Grading Inc. in 2000. Mr. Schwenke is preceded in death by his father Arthur Schwenke; his mother Mable Bicking; sister Loretta Denney; brothers Irvin & Ivan Schwenke; step-fathers, Lesley Denney & Howard Bicking. He is survived by his wife Alda; children, Wanda (Brent) Catterson, Karen (Wade) Brown, Roger, Craig, David and Jason (Jamie) Schwenke; 13 grandchildren; brothers Leroy Schwenke; sister Lavonne Denney Morgan; nieces, nephews and other extended family. Charles accepted Jesus as his Savior and was a born again Christian. He attended the Keystone Bible Chapel. He took pride in his work and was very proud when the grading projects were completed. He enjoyed playing board games, softball, volleyball, collecting and polishing rocks. He was a member of the Nebraska Mineral & Gem Club. He was a loving and dedicated family man, friend and neighbor. He will be greatly missed.
