Charles F. Kaipust May 29, 1934 - November 3, 2019 Charles “Chuck” Kaipust entered into rest peacefully surrounded by family on November 3rd, 2019 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 85. Chuck was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Chuck is survived by his wife Ellen Kaipust, children Kim (Chuck) Carroll, Kevin (Michelle) Kaipust, and Kris (Travis) Knudsen, grandchildren Jeff, Sam, and Laura Carroll, Katie and Abbie Kaipust, Kyra and Bryce Knudsen, sister Clarene Crocker, and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles J. Kaipust and Catherine (Korus) Kaipust, sister Marianne Hayduk, and brother Donales Kaipust (died in infancy). Chuck was born on May 29, 1934 in Platte Center, Nebraska to Charles J. and Catherine Kaipust. He graduated from the University of Nebraska Omaha with a degree in Business and Accounting. He married Ellen (Hudek) Kaipust, on August 27, 1960 at Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pocahontas, Iowa. They have been married for nearly sixty years. Chuck worked as an accountant at Mutual of Omaha for 43 years, until his retirement. Chuck enjoyed traveling, jigsaw puzzles, woodworking, camping, gardening, sports, music and many other activities. Above everything, Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and touched many lives with his humble and generous spirit. He was a devoted Catholic. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, November 7, 2019, 5:30-7:30 pm at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church with a Rosary at 7 pm. A memorial Mass at St. Bernard’s is scheduled for Friday, November 8, at 10:30 am, with a lunch reception to follow. Father Daniel Wittrock will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Chuck's life. Memorials will be directed by the family. Chuck will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska in a private family service.
