He was preceded in death by father Leyman Hawkins; Chuck is survived by his Wife of 16 years, Debra; Children, Gwen (Ken) Hartzell, Diane (John) Krzemien, Denise (Greg) Tyson, Patricia (Nate) Drake & J.R. Mayberry; Mother Doris Hawkins; Sister Cheryl (James) Larson; Brother Rick (Jackie) Hawkins; Grandchildren, Alexander, Jessica, Tyler, Christian, Cody, Bryan & Rilynn; Great Grand Daughter, Madison; Many other relatives & friends. Celebration of Chuck’s Life: Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel). Visitation: Sunday, 5-7:00 PM at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel) In Lieu of flowers, memorials to Nebraska Children’s Home Since World War I when a pilot has passed, his fellow aviators always say that “He has Headed West”, towards the setting sun. This is why when they have a “missing man formation” with the fly over at the funeral of any military pilot, the wingman that leaves the formation always breaks, leaves the formation, and heads West. “Chuck has Gone West”
