Charlie and Ranella were high school sweethearts, starting their dating years during their senior year of high school.Their first date was the result of Charlie losing a bet with his best friend. They flipped a coin to see who would get to ask the more favored of two girls to a school function. The friend won the coin toss and Charlie ended up with Ranella instead of the favored girl. Each went their own way to college after high school graduation and were married on December 7, 1963.They are the proud parents of one son, Chuck, and now enjoy his family which was the reason for their moving to Omaha in 2011.
