Casey Andrew Henderson

January 24, 1989 — November 4, 2024

Casey Andrew Henderson, aged 35, passed away at his home on November 4, 2024. He was born at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska, on January 24, 1989, which happened to be his sister Alesia's third birthday. He grew up in Bellevue and Omaha, graduating from Bryan High School in 2007.

Casey was introduced to the construction trades in high school. He had a gift for working with his hands, and he enjoyed using his woodworking skills to make clever creations with intricate mechanisms, such as shelves and tables with hidden compartments. His chosen career was carpentry, and he was a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, having joined on October 19, 2009; he was awarded Apprentice of the Year in 2016. He not only used his skills to earn a living, but also to help others, as he did when he volunteered to go on a missions trip to the Lower Brule Sioux Reservation to help repair houses and church facilities. Any time he could lend a hand to help someone out, he would.

Casey enjoyed being outdoors, whether boating on the Elkhorn River, fishing with friends or family, riding his Harley, or working on construction projects. He had a knack for getting into ridiculous situations, leading to stories that would be unbelievable if told about anyone else. His sense of humor was unconventional, and he had an eye for quirky and unusual things to take home or give as gifts.

He was also proud to be a Nebraskan and almost always wore at least one article of clothing that expressed his fondness for "The Good Life." He had a way with animals, especially dogs, and his big, chunky, lovable pit bull Gunner was his constant companion.

More than anything else, though, he loved family, especially his son Kayden. His two greatest sources of happiness were spending time with his son, Kayden, and participating in family gatherings--telling bad jokes, recounting past misadventures, and celebrating life events with those he loved the most.

Left to mourn his passing are his son Kayden Henderson; his father, Joe Henderson, stepmother Karon Mills-Henderson, mother Theresa Bulka, and stepfather Timothy Bulka; his sisters Alesia, Juliet, Kara (Torrance), and Miranda (Stephen); his brothers Joseph and Jonathan; his nephews Lhennon, Bennett, and Bentley; his nieces Breeaunna and Blayke; his aunt, Hope Bryant; and his uncles James Henderson and Jay Wyman. Preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents, Glenn (Sherry) Henderson and Clara Henderson; maternal grandparents Wanda Atkinson and John "Jack" Atkinson; his aunt, Glenda Gallien; and his uncle, John "Mike" Henderson.
