Mr. Carl Lavell Chaney Littlejohn, Sr. passed away unexpectedly in Omaha, Nebraska on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the age of 58. Carl is survived by partner, Robbin Proctor, Denver, Colorado; parents, Edwina Chaney Justus and Carl L. Tyler both of Omaha, Nebraska; grandmother Caldonia Chaney; aunts, Betty Jo Tillman and Clara Tyler-Meeks, allof Omaha, Nebraska; Children, Cynthia (Arthur, Sr.) Smith of Lincoln, Nebraska, Timothy (Jennifer) Justus, Whitney Littlejohn of Omaha, Nebraska, Carl (Stacey) Littlejohn, Jr. of Fullerton, California, Joshua Littlejohn, twins Rhianna “”Mama” & Conrad “Fatman” Littlejohn of Denver, Colorado; siblings, Michael Littlejohn, Sr., Tanja Tyler, Tammy (Shaun) Francisco, Carl Tyler, Carletta Lawrence all of Omaha, Nebraska and Orvell (Lynette) Lawrence Sr. of Lewisville, Texas. Carl is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee Chaney, Carl Lee Tyler, Cornellia McCrary, Arthur Justus, Sr., Carrie Justus; brother, Casey Justus, step-father, Arthur Justus, Jr., aunts & uncles, Dorothea Chaney, James L. Chaney, Malvyna Payne, James E. Tyler, and Roy Lee Tyler. Carl was born on November 5, 1960 in Omaha, Nebraska to Edwina Chaney and Carl L. Tyler. He attended Monmouth Park Elementary School, Morton Middle School (Omaha, NE) and graduated from North Plate High School in 1979. After graduation Carl worked for Miller Electric in North Platte, Nebraska. Soon after he began working for Union Pacific. While working with Union Pacific he relocated several times (Grand Island, Nebraska, Pocatello, Idaho, Omaha, Nebraska and Denver, Colorado. During this time Carl was married to Jackie Washington. Carl earned his electricians license in 2001. At the time of his passing he was employed by the City of Denver and was a member of IBEW Local 68. He was most passionate about cooking. On October 19, 2007 Carl earned a culinary certificate from Cook Street Culinary Arts School. Carl was an avid traveler and he also enjoyed sports. All sports, especially fishing, hunting, and coaching basketball, football, and soccer. Carl was an active volunteer at the Montbello Recreation Center. “Coach Littlejohn” touched not only the lives of his own children, but hundreds of other youth as well. Coach Carl was affectionately referred to as a “Montbello Legend”. Carl had many passions, but FAMILY was everything! He took every opportunity to travel to support family. Affectionately called “PawPaw” by his grandchildren…he deeply loved and was deeply loved by his grandchildren..Marcelles “GC”, Nehemiah “MeMe”, Nautica “Mommas”, Dream, Arthur Jr. “Booga”, Marlee “Red”, Brennan, Maricela “Stink”, Malik “Juicy”, Brian “Miracle”, Amir “J.R.”, Cruz, and Julia “JuJu” Carl was an active and dedicated member of King Baptist Church, Denver, Colorado. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 18, 2019, 3-6:00pm at Braman Mortuary, 1702 N. 72nd St. in Omaha, NE. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carl’s life. Carl’s Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, August 19, 2019, 11am at Clair Memorial United Methodist Church, 5544 Ames Ave in Omaha, NE. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Omaha, NE. Condolences for the family should be mailed to 11316 Decatur Plaza, Apt. 2815 Omaha, Nebraska 68154.
