Carl Louis Brezden

March 10, 1931 — January 30, 2012

Carl graduated from Wilton H.S. class of 1949 in Wilton, ND as the Valedictorian & football team captain. He graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1953. Carl served in the U.S. Army for 2 years during the Korean War and married Arlene Horning in 1957. He taught 4 years of Engineering Science at NDSU and graduated with a Master of Science degree from there in 1959. Carl worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 30 years in the design and construction of electric power plants, flood control structures , military systems and structures for the U.S. Army and Air Force. He spent 15 years as chief of the Mechanical Power Systems Section and retired in 1988. Carl was a member of the Epsilon chapter of Sigma Phi Delta, Royal Order of Atlantic Voyageurs, Kalico Kerchief square dance club and VFW Post 1. He was inducted into the Yankton Burrow of the Ancient Order of Missouri River Rats. Preceded in death by wife Arlene; Survived by Children, James Brezden, Denver, CO; Susan Brezden, Omaha, NE, Carla (Bryan) Willis, Denver, CO, Cathy (Jeff) Stang, Prosper, TX; Grandchildren: Kayla, Kevin, Bailey, Tyler & Dylan. Celebration of Carl's Life: Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church (3405 S. 118 St.) Visitation: Friday, 6-8:00 PM at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel). Interment: Resurrection Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post#1
