Bryon B. Buhrman

April 1, 1936 — May 5, 2021

BUHRMAN, Bryon B. 4/1/1936 – 5/5/2021 On May 5th in the wee hours, our father breathed his last breath. The best words to describe our father? He would either dazzle you with brilliance or baffle you with BS!He loved to talk and had a story for any occasion! He could go on forever before finally answering your question! That never changed for the entire time we knew him!You know what I mean! You could always get a straight answer from him but you had to be patient! His story, is like many from that era.Born on a farm in St. Libory working hard on the family farm.He hated it! So he took some college classes before serving his County by joining the Marines! He was very proud to serve his Country. After his years of Service to his Country he again returned to school studying business and finance.During that time, he hit the jackpot when he met Mom!They married and got busy raising a family!2 great sons and one fantastic daughter!(Hey they chose me to write this so…) Dad had a great many hobbies but bass fishing was his favorite!Mr. Bass 1985! He also was very handy and always constructing, reconstructing around the house and garden. I learned so much from him, most importantly… how to properly hold a flashlight! He was born on April 1 which was perfect for his penchant for practical jokes. Many were played on him; few he fell victim to! We look forward to any stories you wish to share. We feel so grateful to have had as much time with our father as we did. We could always count on him for advice or to help out. He was always there for us. I miss him so much already and I will forever remember having the most incredible dad. Dad’s finest quality was his ability to listen, to absorb and to offer a point of view. Duty, reliability, dignity, respect: these are all qualities that our father not only held in high esteem, but practiced every day during his time on this earth. He was a serious and disciplined man, but he could never resist the opportunity to have a laugh with friends and loved ones, given half the chance. Bryon was preceded in death by his son Brad Buhrman; He is survived by his Wife Velda Buhrman; Son Jon Buhrman; Daughter Shelly Buhrman & husband Larry Beaman; Sister Angie Gulzow; Brothers Brenden & Delmar Buhrman. A private service will take place at the Omaha National Cemetery at a later date. Braman Mortuary (72 St. Chapel) 1702 N. 72 St. Omaha, NE68114 402-391-2171
