DERGAN, Bernard E. "Bernie" 12/4/1942 - 1/5/2019 Age 76 years of Omaha Bernie was a casual man that loved to relax with family at cookouts. He loved his featherbones and beer. Bernie was always someone to poke a little fun, or often be the butt of the joke with family. He served proudly aboard the USS Hornet in service to our country and was in the Navy from 1960 to 1964. Bernie then worked for the City of Omaha Parks for much of his career. He was sometimes fiercely stubborn, but Bernie would also quietly give the shirt off his back to those he loved. He was battling medical conditions for years, he showed much strength and humility to those that cared for him. Bernie was preceded in death by his wife Alice Dergan; He is survived by his daughters: Robbin Harris and husband Marcus, Sarah Carter and husband Daryl Folkers; Grandchildren: Alexis, Morgan, Austin; many other relatives and friends. Gathering of Family and Friends: Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 5-8:00pm at Robbin's home. Graveside Service: Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 10:00am at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park.
