Barbara Jean Svanda was born on April 7th, 1941, to Charles and Mabel Svanda in the small town of Washington, Kansas. Barbara was the fourth born of six children.

She met, Lester E. Rue in the summer of 1959, fell in love, and married September 20, 1959. They lived in many Midwest towns while traveling with the railroad for Les's job. Eventually putting down roots in Ralston, Nebraska where they raised their three daughters Denise, Delene, and Drinda. Barb and Les enjoyed traveling, camping at The Wilds, watching the Husker and Chiefs football games, putting together puzzles, playing cards, creating memories, and making friends along the way. The thing they cherished most is spending time with their family.

Barbara passed away on December 22nd, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester; parents Charles and Mabel Svanda; three brothers, Charles Edward Svanda, Robert Morris Svanda, and James Leroy Svanda; one sister Velma Marie Cornett. She will be forever remembered by her daughter Denise Rue and her partner Kristi Hansen; daughter Delene Will and her husband Brandon; daughter Drinda Bright and her husband Chris; grandson Matthew Rue; grandson Christiaan Bright; great grandson Mateo Rue; great granddaughter Skylar Joslin. She leaves behind her three daughters; her sister Deloris Ann Hitchcock; as well as many other relatives and friends.

CELEBRATION OF BARBARA'S LIFE; Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 am, with FAMILY RECEIVING FRIENDS one hour prior to the service, all at Braman Mortuary (Millard Chapel).
