Amanda was the most beautiful soul who was taken from us too soon on March 31, 2022. She was born on December 30, 1983 in West Berlin, Germany to Roland and Marlene Handley. Amanda is survived by her loving husband Wesley Schook and their three children: Harrison, Molly, and Violet. Amanda was the fourth of five children: John (Tara) Handley, Lisa (Jeremy) Wright, Wendy Handley, and Christopher (Ashley) Handley.She had seven nieces, two nephews, and many other relatives. She is preceded in death by her grandparents. Amanda graduated from Millard South High School in 2002. She participated in DECA, marching band, and concert band. She went on and graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Speech Language Pathology. She worked at Brookestone Village where she made many friends and touched countless hearts and lives. Amanda and Wesley met in May 2012 by chance through mutual friends. After dating for a couple years they got engaged at a pumpkin patch in October 2014 surrounded by family and friends. They were married on August 8, 2015 and soon after started their family. Harrison was born in 2016, followed by Molly in 2018, and Violet in 2020. Amanda looked forward to the changing of the seasons.Springtime and Memorial Day was special to her because that meant she could plant new flowers. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to her flowers and plants. Sun, pools, lakes, and rivers were some of the things Amanda enjoyed in the summertime. The Fourth of July was Amanda’s favorite holiday, she celebrated it every year with a big gathering of family and friends. Every fall Amanda counted down the days for the pumpkin patch to open, and she made sure to get a family photo every year.Amanda also loved college football and basketball. She was a huge Husker fan and Wesley, being from Michigan, was a huge Wolverine fan. So, it was a house divided and she took pictures of their kids every year in both team’s football attire. Amanda also enjoyed Creighton Bluejays Men’s Basketball and went to many games with her parents and siblings. In wintertime, Amanda soaked in the beauty of the season and spent time playing in the snow with her children. Spending time with family and friends was most important to Amanda. She enjoyed taking family trips with Wesley and their children to Michigan, Idaho, and Colorado. Amanda wanted her kids to have many fun life experiences. She enjoyed taking her children to the zoo and to play at different neighborhood parks. She coordinated hockey lessons, swimming lessons, soccer games, and was looking into putting the girls into dance classes. She liked to shop for new clothes, shoes, and home decor. Amanda was an avid runner who participated in many races including a half marathon with her husband and sisters.She enjoyed taking hundreds of photos of her children. She liked to do arts and crafts such as making wreaths, completing diamond dotz, and using her cricut. She also enjoyed reading books whenever she managed to find some spare time. Seeing Amanda made everyone’s day one hundred percent better. Amanda had an infectious personality and every room she walked into lit up in her presence, she was notorious for giving compliments and always had something nice to say.Amanda was the person everyone went to for advice, she was generous, kind, big hearted, and a friend to everyone she met. Amanda will be deeply missed and her beautiful life will forever be cherished by Wesley, Harrison, Molly, Violet, Roland, Marlene, the entire Handley family, Lyle, Karen, and the entire Schook family.
