Alvin D. Boseman Sunrise: July 21, 1956 Sunset: July 5, 2022 Life Story Alvin was born in Chicago, Illinois July 21,1956, to the late Willie Amos Boseman and Rosalie Boseman. He was the only boy and is survived by his wife, Melissa Boseman of Omaha, NE, five sisters-Geraldine Hawthorne of Anderson, SC and Victoria Blakemore, Kimberly Baker, Toi Boseman, and Patsy Hammons who all reside in the Chicago area. Alvin joined the Army in 1975 and served honorably for eight years. While stationed in Texas he met and married his first wife, Jacqueline Robinson of Pittsburgh, PA. They eventually moved to Pittsburgh where they raised their two children Angela and Justin Boseman. This was Divine Providence: shortly after moving to Pittsburgh, he was called out from the pulpit by the late Bishop Loren E. Mann and received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Alvin had a passion for God’s people and reluctantly accepted his call to preach the gospel. Always humble, he did not think he was ready for what God wanted him to do. He first served as a youth pastor and eventually served as founding pastor of Ekklesia Church in Turtle Creek, PA before passing the mantle to his son Justin in 2012. Alvin moved to Omaha, NE in December 2012 after meeting Melissa Boseman whom he married in 2013 and whom he constantly said brought him so much joy. He enjoyed the slower pace and peace he felt upon returning to the Midwest. He and Melissa traveled, ate out, and laughed a lot all while making time for their collective 4 adult children and 13 grandchildren. Alvin always loved technology and worked in the IT field professionally. He enjoyed FaceTiming his family and always insisted on receiving live photos and videos from events so he could still be there from far away. At home he enjoyed creating “Kingdom Content” (as he would say) in his studio as he continued to preach the gospel and challenge the norms of the culture. He spoke unapologetically in his effort to challenge lukewarm thinking and lead everyone to God, posting online often and hosting a broadcast with his son. His other love was music. He played several instruments and was a singer/songwriter. He created scores of musical compositions and was always in his studio. He also pushed for his children and grandchildren to learn to play and appreciate music. Alvin’s faith and family defined him. He was known as a practical jokester amongst his cousins and made a point to travel near and far to visit his loved ones. His sudden passing has left a space in our hearts that we fill knowing that he’s in Heaven rejoicing. He leaves a legacy of love to his wife, Melissa, children and bonus children: Angela and Edward Green, Justin Boseman, Dareeka Allen, Jerry and Katrina Crockett, and Ricky Gregory; grandchildren: Jerry, Dominique, Nyah, Sierra, Sunai, O’Rylon, Kloe, Katlin, Isaiah, Kobe, “his twins” Zoé and Zoë, and Jasmine; sisters and brothers-in-law, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends all of whom will cherish his memory.
