She was a loving spouse, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Alice lived a life of service to her community. She loved her chosen career serving as a teacher for 42 years. Alice served and supported the First United Methodist Church in Raton, NM and the McClave United Methodist Church in McClave, CO. During her time in Omaha, she attended the Living Faith United Methodist Church. As a member of Queen Esther Chapter #1 O.E. S., she served as Worthy Matron, organist and other officers for over 47 years. In Raton, Alice was a member and officer in Beta Sigma Phi, Delta Kappa Gamma and Retired Teachers. Alice also belonged to Daughters of the Nile and Delta Omicron. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, parents H.H. & Katie Downing, brother Harold Downing. Alice is survived by her daughter Maril (Bernard) Hauber; Grandchildren Andrea (Michael) Nelson, Curtis Hauber and fiancé Christina Rabenold; 2 great grandchildren, All of Omaha.
