SCHIEMANN, Alfred W. “Al” 10/17/1934 – 5/28/2017 Alfred Werner was born on October 17, 1934 to Werner and Louise Schiemann in Blair, Nebraska.When Al was four years old the family moved to Omaha. Al grew up like most kids at that time, playing with neighbors and walking to school.He was good at most sports and when he was at North High School, he excelled in track.He said there was one kid at Boystown that he just couldn't beat.He also liked working with his hands and enjoyed shop and woodworking. After high school Al worked at Union Pacific in the the office, but that wasn't for him.He joined the U.S. Air force and had many good memories of that time. Especially the two years he spent in Japan on a radar base in the mountains.There he worked on diesel truck engines and learned about electrical equipment. After leaving the military, Al worked for OPPD, electrical contractors and Omaha Public Schools as an electrician and then electrical foreman. He also had his own electrical business.He was a hard worker and enjoyed his employment. In 1960, Al married Marian Schaefer.There were blessed with four children.He was proud of his family and their accomplishments.His hobbies included fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening, playing cards with friends and just relaxing at home. Al was a lifelong Christian and was faithful in worshiping the Lord. Al is survived by his Wife of 57 years, Marian; Children: Steve (Janet) Schiemann, Judy (Jeff) Dittmar, Sue (Dave) Hoppen, Jim (Kim) Schiemann; 11 Grandchildren.
