Alex Conner Mauseth, 4/05/05, was born in Council Bluffs, IA and lived much of his early life in Missouri Valley, IA. He attended public schools in Missouri Valley, and was apart of their wrestling team, the MV Little Reds. He moved to the Millard/Omaha area while in middle school and attended high school at Millard North.
In January of 2020, he was diagnosed with lymphoma and completed treatment and was a true warrior throughout. He was a favorite of the doctors and nurses at Children’s Hospital.
While attending Millard North Highschool Alex joined the Avenue Scholars Program. This program later led him to pursue a career as an electrician. Even with the hurdle of cancer to contend with, Alex graduated high school in 2023. When Alex was younger, he envisioned himself joining the military but was unable to due to his cancer diagnosis. After high school, Alex found another path in life and joined the IBEW as an apprentice electrician.
Alex loved watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and San Francisco 49ers football teams. He also enjoyed playing darts and competed several nights a week. He played often with both his mother and father. Alex was a calm gentleman but would always surprise you with the unexpected. While river rafting in CO he jumped off the boat into the freezing cold water just for the thrill. He was a daredevil and went skydiving to celebrate his victory of a hard-fought battle against cancer. He traveled from Omaha to California to see the whales in the harbor and to ride exciting rollercoasters. He checked another location off his bucket list just this year during a family trip to Boston. There is nothing this kid wouldn't do!
Although Alex’s life was short, he touched the lives of many people. He showed great kindness to everyone he met. He also inspired many people with his positive attitude while fighting cancer. Alex made the world a better place. We are all better for having the opportunity to know and have him apart of our lives. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, co-workers, teachers, nurses, and doctors.
