Alesha Sturm
January 23, 1978 ~ February 23, 2025
Alesha Sturm was born Jan. 23rd, 1978 in Lincoln, NE and spent her younger years raised in Wonder Lake, IL with many fond memories before moving to Council Bluffs/Omaha area. She did not always take the easiest path in life, but fought neverending to right her wrongs. She spent many years battling with addiction which she overcame against all odds with a remarkable 19 years sober. She then took her experiences and wanted to help as many others as she could. She did so in her daily life and while working at Nebraska Urban Indian Health Coalition.
However her fight didn't stop there. She took her ambition and perseverance to reach out to all her children and be a part of there lives any way they would have her. She mended bridges in the family as best she could. She fought to the very end with her medical problems while doing what she could to never let anyone see how sick she truly was. She wanted to make the most of everything life had to offer.
Alesha was the life of the party always with a smile, silly gesture or a joke. She was also someone to count on and the first to be there to help with anything. She loved her family and friends to no end. She would also kick my butt if I didn't at least mention her beloved fur babies. Some days we all agreed she loved dogs more than people! But who can blame her.
Alesha passed away peacefully on Feb. 23rd, 2025 at home surrounded by her family and beloved dogs Max and Sophie. She was preceded in death by her grandma Doris "Dodo" Marges; bio father Barry Kracht; grandma Mildred Sturm; grandpa Stanley Marges; uncle Kirk Marges; And her best friend and partner in crime, Layla Beecher.
Alesha is survived by her long-time companion Joel Greise; children: Natya Sturm, Michael (Justus) Kinney, Tyler Kinney, Jaydon Kinney; mother Noreen Sturm; loving grandchildren: Yara, Zoë, Adrian; brother Garrett (Tabitha) Kracht; sisters: Serena (Charles) Kinney, Tammy (Axel) Sievertsen; niece Chelsey Welch and her daughters Xyla & Xy'riah Thomas; Many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
