Dufresne, Ronald R. “Ron” “Dufer” 7/13/1951 – 9/15/2019 Ron, age 68, passed away in his home with his beloved wife, Linda, at his side. He died of multiple sclerosis after a 26-year battle. He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts to Armand and Juliette Dufresne. He went to high school in Lowell and moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1969 to attend college at the University of Nebraska in Omaha. He graduated in May 1974, got commission in the Air Force in October, and married Linda Carney in December. He loved flying and flew T-37, T-38, F-101, F-106, and F-15 aircraft during his 19-year career in the Air Force at numerous Air Force bases statewide as well as a tour in Iceland. He was medically retired with a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 1993. Ron was passionate about life. In addition to flying, he loved water skiing, snow skiing, tennis, and golf. One of his favorite past times was creating “party tapes” for gatherings with friends. Later in life, after his medical retirement, he enjoyed building computers. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Armand and Juliette Dufresne, and his brothers Normand and Paul Dufresne. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda; his four remaining siblings Lorraine Larose, Jeannine Gaillardetz, Gilbert (Carmen) Dufresne, and Jerry (Roselyn) Dufresne; as well as many other relatives and friends. Burial service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha on September 30th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Paralyzed Veterans of America or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
