Mary Ann Hutcheson
October 4, 1935 – June 17, 2023
Mary Ann Hutcheson, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2023. She was born to Thomas and Olive Elizabeth Turner on October 4, 1935, in an old schoolhouse in Cabool, Missouri.
The seventh of eight children, Mary was a good student whose favorite pastime as a young child was playing in the woods with her older brothers.
Mary’s greatest dream in life was to be a wife and mother. She met her future husband at a skating rink at the age of 13, and they were inseparable for 74 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and GG to her great granddaughter. She loved to laugh, and had a mischievous sense of humor. Mary’s greatest gift was encouragement. She always found something positive in everyone she met and made sure they felt a little better about themselves before they parted.
Mary loved God and kept a strong faith throughout her life. She modeled Jesus by loving God and loving others. She was humble and selfless and put others first in any circumstance. She was always available and happy to help in a time of need.
She loved children. Mary taught preschool and Sunday School at her church, and as her own children grew, she and her husband led student ministry. Mary was devoted to her two children. She was a great listener, problem solver, musical-instrument-practice-encourager, homework helper, chauffeur, and friend.
Mary is preceded in death by her siblings, Bill, Betty, Pete, Geraldine, Andy, and Donald. She is survived by her sister, Sue. She also leaves behind her husband Bart, of 67 years; daughter Brenda (Bruce) Bowers and their children, Chris, Kayla, Camryn and Thomas; son Mike (Janet) Hutcheson and their children, Christina and Richard.
Services will be held at a later date.
