Cynthia Marie Morrison

November 25, 1951 — November 25, 2023

MORRISON, Cynthia M. "Cindi"
11/25/1951 - 11/25/2023

Cindi was born to Fred and Jane King. As the youngest of two, she was always looked after by her big sister, Teri, and their parents. As a child she enjoyed playing outside, swimming, and spending time with family. She quickly found her love of travel and had explored most of the United States. She began her career in nursing. Cindi was always trying to help others. You could always count on Cindi to outspend anyone in any situation.

In 1976 she almost lost her life giving birth to her son, John, who had arrived very premature at only 2.8lbs. Being a mother through the 80s, she was a social and entertainment butterfly. She would often ask the kids where they wanted to go and throw in extra things like a trip to the movies while they were out. Cindi was always one of the most compassionate people to those she loved. She was so loyal to her loved ones that people would avoid telling her of confrontation between mutual friends for days or weeks. You could ask her to name her best friends and she would name all and then finish naming them as the day went on because her list was so long. She was definitely a memorable woman; she could’ve won the lottery and some Taco Bell somewhere would get to know her on her first name basis fairly quickly!

Cindi spent the majority of her time enjoying her life, exploring the planet, shopping, and participating in anything related to her family. Always the constant optimist even after her health began to decline. It was not uncommon for Cindi to tell you she loved you a dozen times in the same conversation. Sometimes she’d forget why she’d called her son and just leave a message saying “I love you honey” in repetition before hanging up. She wasn’t just a loving mother; she was an even more loving grandmother. Her greatest accomplishment came when John’s son, Dublin, was born on her birthday in 1999. She celebrated like she had been given a suitcase full of money. The only thing missing was a little girl to spoil and in 2002 her granddaughter Aaliyah arrived. Grandma Cindi was excited to shop for tiaras and tutus.

Her last few years were challenging. Her sister, Teri and brother in law, Samer, were by her side caring for her through many long nights and emergency hospital visits. Had it not been for their efforts she could not have remained in her childhood home as long as she did. The smile she came in with was the smile she left with. She really lived and made the most of the 72 years in between. Rest in Peace.

Cindi is survived by her son John Hartin; grandson Dublin Hartin; granddaughter Aaliyah Roach; sister Teri King & husband Samer; many other relatives and friends.
